    Hottest Day to Sell a House Is Almost Here

    It’s not news that Spring is traditionally a good time to put a house on the market. But when is the best actual day to sell? New research from ATTOM looked at 59 million single-family home and condo sales over the past 13 years.

    Higher seller premiums were gained from listings in May, February, and April. Specific hot days for higher premiums were:
    May 27 seller premium: 16.2%
    February 25 seller premium: 15.9%
    February 17 seller premium: 15.8%
    February 15 seller premium: 15.7%
    February 22 seller premium: 15.5%
    May 25 seller premium: 15.4%
    March 30 seller premium: 15.2%
    March 25 seller premium: 15.1%
    February 28 & 24 seller premium: 15%

    Prices UP in EVERY Metro Area: First Time Since July 2022
     
    Economists at Redfin note that median home-sale prices were up (or stable) year over year in all 50 of the country’s biggest metro areas over the 4 weeks leading up to April 28. That hasn’t happened since the summer of 2022.
     
    The median sale price is now $383,188, up 4.8% compared to last year and almost high enough to set a new record. Prices aren’t looking like they’ll drop anytime soon, and inventory is in short supply, so Redfin’s Economic Research Lead Chen Zhao says, “...(for) serious house hunters who can afford today’s mortgage rates and find a home they love, jumping on it now isn’t a bad idea.”
